How to Write an Essay in Less Than One HourIf you are feeling less than qualified to write a final essay for the semester, it's okay to feel down. You can get over this by using some of the techniques outlined below.
You probably know that your favorite subject is food. That's because you're going to spend so much time discussing food in your final essay. Now, you don't have to create a long essay about the history of pasta or the relevance of pomegranate juice. Just use one sentence describing the deliciousness of the dish and then move on to the next. This short paragraph will show just how passionate you are about the topic. Most high school teacher will tell you that they love when students give as much as they take. It's actually the principle of reciprocity that makes life fun, not all the personal experience. If you want to use one of these experiences in your essay, try making a comment about how it would make things easier for you if you weren't doing a double-shift at work. You're not just going to talk about a famous movie, Mrs. Carol's tea party, or how scary it was going to be at your grandmother's funeral. Instead, use a situation that makes you feel the same way about things. Whether you're talking about family or hobbies, use it to illustrate your point about the importance of your subject. Whenever you find yourself in the middle of an argument, think about what you would say if you were the other side. Maybe this is a point that you made last year in class and it helped you make your point this year. No matter how strong the argument is, it can be strengthened by giving a single example of a time when the opposing view was stronger. There's no point in preparing for an exam if you're just going to go ahead and accept the first answer that you get. So, make sure you research your topic before you submit it. Don't rely on a dictionary and try not to use in-jokes. Don't ignore the student's knowledge of literature. Write an essay that shows them that you have read a lot of literature.
